We have been keeping household accounts for about ten years. To keep control of spending and make sure we know where the money is going to and coming from we record everytime money goes in or out. For many years we done this with Excel spreadsheets but since the start of this year we have been using an accounts program Simple Home Budget. We have been using it now for the last year and a half and it has worked flawlessly. It's very simple, not a lot of bells and whistles but it works perfectly.
